What is UCPath?
UCPath is the University of California’s priority program to implement a comprehensive payroll, benefits, human resources and academic personnel system for all UC employees.
It is the largest administrative project in UC history.
- Standardize payroll and HR processes systemwide
- Centralize certain HR/APO and payroll transactional processes within the UCPath shared service center
- Replace UC's 35-year old Payroll/Personnel System (PPS) with a single new payroll and HR technology system
The systemwide shared service center will leverage economies of scale; improve service to UC employees; and ensure consistency in business processes. This center will process routine transactions related to payroll, benefits, leave management and workforce administration for UC's 10 campuses, five medical centers, and the Office of the President.
Many critical Human Resources functions will remain at the campus level, including hiring and retention, performance management, employee and labor relations, and other non-transactional business activities.
More information can be found on the systemwide UCPath website.
