Did You Know? When submitting a position change via PayPath Actions and Position Administration (e.g. transfer, reclassification, promotion or demotion) – pay is NOT automatically updated if Job Data Pay Components aren’t also updated

  • If the update is made in PayPath Actions and the position is step based, the system will require an update to the Salary Step on the Job Data tab which will update the associated pay
  • The compensation is not automatically updated for range based employees, and the pay components and the pay frequency are required on the Job Data tab
  • If the position update is made in Position Administration - pay is NOT automatically updated for salary step or range based employees and a corresponding pay rate change is required to align compensation with new job attributes.

Example:

  • An employee’s position is updated to a new range based job without updating the “job data tab” Pay Components and Pay Frequency
  • The update to the Position results in a misalignment between the Salary Admin Plan/Grade and the and the employee’s pay components are carried forward from the old position details

When submitting position changes that should include a pay change – users must complete both the “Position” AND “Job Data” tabs
